Your body is like our dirt: an integrated system that never stays in the lines. Your body’s system is deeply connected and requires careful tending to optimize performance while maintaining balance and harmony.
Somewhere in our quest to control and understand we lost our connection to one of the oldest medicinal plants in the world. It’s not all so serious. Below are few common points to review when it comes to re-connecting with cannabis.
Serious Dirt Botanics is truly a seed-shelf company. From the sourcing of our seeds all the way through our ever-improving sustainable farming model, we bring our valued customers uncompromising products that are the cleanest and most potent on the market today using all organic practices.
We spend each year, prior to the grow season, continuously researching and educating ourselves to determine and locate the best hemp seeds in the country that meet our quality seed assurance standards.
Once we determine the seed we will be growing, we then employ our specialized process for starting the seeds for 30-days until they reach the proper size for transplanting.
While the starter plants are growing, we spend our time prepping the land for transplanting the seed starts and employing our innovative agricultural practices. We utilize all organic practices and constantly work to improve our ever evolving sustainable farming. We rotate growing plots to allow the land to regenerate naturally, we use organic amendments to the soil, utilize low impact drip irrigation and organic fertigation techniques. We also use: best-in-class cultivation practices; new crop development and GMO-free product standards. We are constantly: inspecting the plants during cultivation to ensure the plants receive sufficient air flow; searching for, and rooting out, male plants; as well as monitoring other natural environmental effects.
During harvest, we hand harvest the mature plants, by strain, with an experienced team that understands how to tenderly prune the plants. We then take strain specific pruned stems with buds to our indoor processing facility where we buck and trim the buds from the stem to expose the beautiful and powerful flower. To maintain the potency of the buds, we then carefully place the bucked and trimmed buds of the individual strains on our aluminum drying racks to allow them to properly dry. Once dried, we then properly bag and vacuum seal the buds by strain. The vacuum sealed buds are then transported and placed in our cannabis humidor room maintaining proper: light, temperature, humidity, air quality, and air flow.
These flower buds are then used in our strain-specific product offerings.
Most companies use biomass for producing their products which stalks, stems, larger fan leaves and other debris and which reduces the potency and whole-plant effect. Our single strain whole flower buds are the focus of our company and the center of all of our products. The whole flower buds provide a more potent base for our pre-rolls, CBD oil, serums, gummies and other products.
We use a single strain approach to all of our products. Because we are a seed-to-shelf company and grow all of our own hemp cannabis flower, we do not amalgamate our whole flower and carefully keep each strain separate. A single strain approach is the only way to experience the benefits of single strain flower entourage effect. We are the only company utilizing a single strain approach in all of our products allowing the entire plant specific compounds – cannabinoids, terpenes, and flavonoids, to work together providing their full benefits and producing a more potent product.
During the oil production process, there are numerous steps that can affect the quality and potency of the oil. First the cannabis flower must be heated prior to extraction to sufficiently activate the cannabinoid profile within the plant. To do this, the buds must be heated at a moderate temperature over a specific period of time. If the temperature is to high, it will reduce the potency. If the temperature is to low or processed to fast, the potency of the cannabinoids will not be fully activated. Serious Dirt Botanics has developed their own specific extraction method heating the flower at moderate temperatures and employing a longer time period for the extraction. This is more costly but produces a superior oil resulting in a more potent product.
The next step in producing a potent oil is the extraction process. The fully-activated strain specific flower is placed in the extraction equipment and the extraction process begins. This is where our team of scientists properly dial-in the extraction control “recipe”. We use a slow process to ensure we exact every ounce of the potency of the plants. Most companies pay for extraction which is completed as fast as possible – the through-put speed. A faster extraction does not permit for the full extraction of cannabinoid profile. Processing the oil at a slower speed over a longer period of time is more costly but produces a superior oil resulting in a more potent product.
Cannabis – both hemp and marijuana, extracted oils have powerful medicinal effects but the size of the compound particles slow the absorption and can reduce the effects of the Cannabinoid, terpenes and flavonoids. Ultrasonic Nano-Emulsions is a very effective emulsification method which reduces the cannabinoid droplet size to diminutive droplets of approx. 10nm and evenly disperses the compounds improving the absorption (bioavailability) and producing a more profound effect of the Cannabinoids, Terpenes and Flavonoids present in each strain and a more potent product.
Both HEMP and Marijuana are from the cannabis family, but HEMP is a completely different variety. Most importantly, our HEMP has high levels of cannabidiol and low to no tetrahydrocannabinol (under 0.3%), so it does not produce psychoactive effects. Since the landmark 2018 US Farm Bill was passed, HEMP is federally legal to cultivate across the United States.
CBD Cannabidiol is one of the most prevalent in the list of hundreds of cannabinoids (chemical compounds) found in cannabis–the other two majors are Tetrahydrocannabinol and Terpenes (essential oils responsible for flavor). CBD is non-psychoactive and is currently being heavily researched for its powerfully therapeutic properties.
Our bodies have a system ripe for accepting CBD cannabidiol as well as other minor cannabinoids. Your body is constantly on a quest to balance itself, and the Endocannabinoid System (ECS) is one of its most effective tools. The ECS is in charge of regulating many physiological functions in the body, including those relating to stress, pain, and even fertility. Rooted in our immune system, nervous system and and nearly all of the body’s organs, the endocannabinoids act as a bridge between body and mind.
Yes, all of our products are third party tested and overseen by our accredited Vermont lab partners. In addition to confirming various levels of cannabinoids, we also test for heavy metals, mold, and toxins, to ensure we meet stringent quality standards. It’s very rare to experience any side effects with our cbd products; however, we always recommend to consult your doctor when using new health products. And, of course, always make sure you are using a quality product from reputable sources.
All of our products register low to no tetrahydrocannabinol and comply with federal and state regulatory requirements for cbd products. However, because there could be trace amounts of tetrahydrocannabinol in cbd products, we recommend taking caution by either ceasing use for at least one week prior to any test and/or disclosing to your doctor or test center that you are currently using a cbd-based product.
All whole flower products and cbd oil tinctures should be stored in a cool, dry environment, away from direct light, to maintain the lifespan of the products.
